The Monroe Township Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome you to our school. For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children. The MTMS PTO works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents.
The purpose of our organization is to aid the students and staff by providing support for educational and recreational needs, to promote open communication between administration, teachers and parents and to encourage MTMS school spirit and pride. The PTO uses its resources, both manpower and monetary, to support all the efforts of the staff of our school. These programs and activities help promote the welfare of the children in school, home and community through the united efforts of all the parents and the entire Middle School staff.
The PTO supports assembly programs and social events. The PTO raises funds through our Scholastic Book fairs to add new books to the LAL classroom libraries utilized for all grades. Last year, through the PTO funding, we funded the Rachel’s Challenge program that was implemented for all grades.
In order to raise the funds necessary for these programs and events for our children, we run a few fundraisers throughout the year. We have thoroughly researched our fundraising opportunities and based on what we learned, and feedback received from previous years, we choose fundraisers that will be of most value to our families. Our fundraising campaign will end in November; therefore, participation at the beginning of the school year is very important! Please be sure to stay connected by checking our website (www.mtmspto.org) frequently. Dear Middle School PTO Members,
We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and dedication. This year has started off in an amazing way and we expect it to only get better.
To date, your membership contributions and participation in the various fundraisers held so far has allowed the PTO to provide incredible opportunities, events and activities for the students and faculty.
In September, The PTO had the chance to host an iPlay America event in which students received unlimited rides for the night. We hosted a pizza and salad luncheon to welcome the faculty back to school. Teachers were offered discount memberships during our membership drive and they were entered into a raffle for the chance to receive a wonderful gift basket as a thank you for their support. The PTO was honored to assist families in need by purchasing school photos and team shirts for some children this year.
In October, the PTO board baked and packed over 800 homemade chocolate chip cookies for the faculty as a trick or treat surprise! In addition, The PTO awarded the highest box top collector with a special gift and his entire team was given free snack coupons. The PTO had record spirit wear sales during the fall sale allowing for a greater profit for upcoming winter events as well.
In November, the PTO provided lunch to the special guests and faculty at the Veteran’s Day event and donated funds to rent the obstacle course and other activities. During the Scholastic Book Fair, the PTO presented the faculty with gift certificates for use towards purchases. Additionally, the PTO was pleased to offer $1000 in scholarships to college bound high school graduates. The membership drive continues to be a huge success.
Finally, teachers who are PTO members are also eligible to receive up to $25 in reimbursement towards school supplies that they purchase.
Things to look forward to….
